A stag party used to be rued by the bride who was fearful of the dangers a night of drinking could do to her betrothed. In the past, and even now on occasion, the bachelor party can be an evening of regrettable events.
Fortunately, for many, the bachelor party has evolved into stag weekends. Some of the particulars are the same. The members of the group are the groom, the best man, the father and father-in-law, and the balance of the male half of the bridal party.
Although many are capable of planning a great weekend for the groom, it is best left to the talent of a professional party host. This individual is trained to give you the time of your life but detached enough to keep the most unruly members in line. Even when planned by the best there is, stag weekends have been known to get out of hand.
These parties will begin on a Friday evening and typically end on Sunday, which we all know is set aside for a day of rest. The groom’s interests are always taken into account. After all, the party is for him. He will be asked what his likes and dislikes are. Is he a gold aficionado? Is the groom a fan of soccer, baseball, or hockey? Weather permitting, some sport will be added to the weekend that the groom truly enjoys.
Friday evening is a bit like a guy’s night out. The fellows are all together having a few brews and enjoying a few jokes. All party members have been warned of the entire full day of events on Saturday, so unless you wish to spend the day holding your head in your hands, it is advisable to go easy on the drinks Friday night.
Stag weekends will be planned to the last detail and no one will have to worry about driving under the influence. Relax and enjoy your weekend outing.
